It is not easy to save the entire world from an apocalypse, but luckily, Marcelline Inc has hired eight of the best engineers. They have dedicated themselves to constructing a robot that could send enough energy balls to Mike and Sully to avoid their world from imploding! You are most probably asking yourself how they accomplished this task. The answer is simple; all you need is time, patience and a lot of wisdom.

Before starting this monstrous project, these eight professional engineers knew that the robot had to be very functional and be strong enough to move, to go up and down a slope, hold balls and be able to throw them. In order to achieve their goal, they had to draw sketches, exchange ideas and choose the best ones. For example, they wanted a robot that had arms that would pick up the energy balls, just like a humanoïd. However, they quickly realized that it would be difficult to realize and opted for a simpler solution.

With these genius ideas in mind, our dear employees of Marcelline Inc started constructing the robot. They tried and put their ideas to the test. Furthermore, they had to familiarize themselves with new materials, such as T-slot bars so they could have a solid structure for their robot. However, the girls noticed that the bars were too heavy and they had to find a way to take them out by simplifying the mechanisms and by configuring the robot in a different matter.
In regards to the slope, they had to overcome a lot of difficulties. The secret behind it all is the wheels! It is what they discovered after changing them multiple times, to the great dismay of the members of Journalism and Video who had to update their reports constantly. They went from using mecanum wheels, to adherent wheels to end up using pneumatic wheels. They gave traction, stability et the required power to reach the different targets.

At Marcelline Inc, we are convinced that Monstropolis will be saved thanks to our robot!

“ We really liked programming the robot, because we were proud to know that it was able to move thanks to our hard work. We learned a lot these past months, especially while building the automation station. Learning how to program on our own was one of our biggest difficulties because we mostly had to rely on Youtube videos…  All in all, we have to mention how happy we were to participate in Marcelline Inc’s project and to save Mike and Sully! ”
